Why Are There So Few Christians in Japan?
Christianity in Japan faces unique cultural and historical barriers. Deeply rooted traditions like Shintoism and Buddhism are often intertwined with Japanese identity, making conversion to Christianity feel, for some, like a break from family and heritage. Additionally, social pressures and a value for harmony can make people hesitant to embrace a faith that’s perceived as “different.” Despite this, the need for the gospel is great, and hearts are open to authentic relationships and hope.
