Embracing the Seasons: Finding Purpose in Every Moment

Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons. The crisp air, warm drinks, and cozy moments invite us to slow down and reflect. 🍁☕ With so much ahead in the coming months, I’ve found it refreshing to pause and embrace the slower pace and gentle rhythm of this time of year.

There’s something about fall that reminds me to breathe. To look around and savor the beauty in small things: the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet, the way the sky glows at sunset, and the feeling of holding a warm mug after a long day. It’s in these little things that I often feel closest to God’s presence.

Here are a few of my favorite fall things right now:

  • Go-to cozy drink: Hot cider, especially from Spicer’s Orchard, which happens to be just down the road from my house. There’s nothing like the first sip of that sweet, spiced comfort.

  • Favorite fall tradition: Carving pumpkins. I’m not the most skilled at it, but whether I’m with family or friends, it always brings out laughter and creativity.

  • A verse on my heart: “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

This verse has been echoing in my heart as I prepare for my move to Japan. It reminds me to embrace the season I’m in without rushing to the next, because each moment has its own purpose. Whether we are in times of waiting, preparing, or going, God is working through it all.

Right now, I am learning that slowing down is not losing momentum. It is staying aligned with the One who gives it. Fall feels like a gentle reminder from God to rest in His timing and to find joy in the present.

Now I’d love to hear from you.
